The college elections for the academic year 2024-25 were conducted on 18th July 2024 with utmost enthusiasm and democratic spirit. The day commenced with a morning assembly where the student body was introduced to the aspiring leaders through a 'Meet the Candidates' program. Mr Uzwal Menezes, the principal, underscored the pivotal role of elections in educational institutions, emphasizing their significance in nurturing student leadership and responsibility. Mr Vaalantine Crasta, the SWO and Chief Election Officer, provided a comprehensive overview of the election procedures to students and staff alike.There were three candidates vying for the esteemed position of college president. Voting commenced promptly at 2:00 PM, with the principal casting the inaugural vote, followed by deans and lecturers. Students were escorted to the polling booths by their respective lecturers in an organized manner. And the process came to an end by 3.40 p m. The vote count, overseen by Mr Melvin, the Dean of Commerce, began at 4:00 PM. The results of the election were eagerly awaited and were formally announced during the college assembly on 19th July 2024 by Principal Uzwal Menezes. Mohammed Mehfuz, representing II Commerce, emerged victorious as the College President, while Nafeesa Shazeen secured the prestigious position of General Secretary.The student body greeted the results with great enthusiasm and jubilation, reflecting their confidence in the elected representatives. The entire electoral process has played a remarkable role in instilling democratic values and fostering civic responsibility among the students. The college elections not only marked a celebration of student democracy but also highlighted the commitment of our institution towards nurturing future leaders.
