Participation of YPUC in International Day of Democracy Celebrations

The Inaugural Orientation Programme for First Year Pre-University students of Yenepoya P U College took place on June 22, 2024, at Yendurance Zone, situated within the esteemed Yenepoya University campus at Deralakatte. This meticulously planned event was designed to warmly welcome incoming students, acquaint them with the faculty and academic offerings, and provide indispensable guidance for their educational journey.
The programme commenced with a solemn prayer led by senior students from the Second Year Pre-University class. Mr Uzwal Menezes, Principal of the college, introduced the distinguished faculty members to both students and parents. Addressing the assembly, Mr Anthony Joseph, Associate Director, lauded the accomplishments of students who excelled in exams such as NEET, CET, and Board examinations, delivering motivational remarks to inspire the students.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr Sinan Zakariya, Academic Adviser, who cantered his speech on the theme of embracing academic and personal growth. He imparted valuable insights on achieving a harmonious balance between academic pursuits and personal development, drawing from his extensive experience. His address included practical advice on goal setting, effective time management, and fostering a positive mindset.
The highlight of the programme was the felicitation ceremony honouring academic achievers from both the current year and previous years' NEET, CET, and Board exams. Distinguished guests presented certificates, trophies, and shawls to these outstanding students.
Mrs. Seema Umesh, from the Department of Mathematics, delineated the academic activities specific to the Science stream, while Mr. Melwin Felix, Dean of Commerce, provided an overview of the academic offerings for the Commerce stream. Mr. Stany Lobo, Student Welfare Officer, concluded the session by outlining the general guidelines, rules, and regulations of the college.
The Orientation Programme not only marked a significant beginning for our new students but also reaffirmed our steadfast commitment to nurturing a supportive environment conducive to their academic and personal growth.
