On September 15, 2024, in observance of the International Day of Democracy, a remarkable 237-kilometer human chain was formed stretching from Shiroor to Sampaje, under the theme "Navigating AI for Governance and Citizen Engagement," emphasizing the importance of strengthening democratic institutions, promoting human rights, and encouraging active citizen participation in the democratic process.

The students and faculty members of YPUC actively participated in this significant event, which offered them a unique experience beyond the confines of textbooks and classroom settings. The event commenced with a formal session at the KPT Circuit House at 9:30 AM.

Under the leadership of Principal Mr Uzwal Menezes, our students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff embarked from the college at 8:45 AM, proceeding along the route between Maroli and Padil. With flags and tricolour ribbons in hand, they stood in solidarity, proudly chanting "Jai Bharat" and "Jai Karnataka." The group dispersed by 10 AM.
