Yenepoya PU Campus celebrated Independence Day with great reverence and enthusiasm. The day’s events commenced with a solemn prayer led by the college choir setting a reflective tone for the celebration. The National Flag was ceremoniously hoisted by Associate Director Mr Anthony Joseph, in the presence of Director-Academics and Operations Mrs Mishriya Javed, Principal Mr Ujwal Menezes, and Campus Coordinator Mrs Euvet Pereira. The National Anthem was performed with utmost respect and dignity and the national pledge was administered by the college president Mohammed Mehfus. In his welcome address, Mr Anthony Joseph urged the students to strive for an India free from caste, colour, and religious biases, drawing inspiration from Rabindranath Tagore’s Gitanjali. The Principal, Mr Ujwal Menezes, in his Independence Day message, encouraged the students to integrate patriotism into their daily lives and take pride in their identity as Indians. Cultural Secretary, Fathimath Nahima also contributed to the event with an insightful speech. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prizes and medals to students who excelled in various events, recognizing their talents and achievements.
