Participation of YPUC in International Day of Democracy Celebrations

On account of observation of World Suicide Prevention Day, the Department of Mental Health Nursing, Yenepoya Nursing College in collaboration with Suicide Lifeline, A Unit of Susheg Charitable Trust and Department of M.Sc. Counseling, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Kankanady organized a guest talk and screening of psychological well-being for students on 15.09.2022 at Yenepoya Pre University College, Jeppinamogaru. The program began at 9.30 am with an invocation by students of PU College followed by a welcome address by Mrs. Viji Prasad C, Assistant Professor, Department of Mental Health Nursing. Dr. Lavina Noronha, Coordinator, Mangaluru Suicide Lifeline. Mr. Uzwal Rodney Menezes, Principal, Yenepoya PU College, Mrs. Euvet Perriera, Campus Coordinator, PU College, Mrs. Sharanya Alva, Cultural Coordinator, PU College, Mrs. Viji Prasad C were the dignitaries who lit the lamp and inaugurated the event. Mr. Uzwal Rodney Menezes, Principal, PU College revealed the significance of observation of suicide prevention day.
A guest talk was delivered by Dr. Lavina Noronha, Coordinator, Mangaluru Suicide Lifeline on the topic “Creating hope through action”. The session was very informative and insightful. Screening of psychological well-being was carried out for PU students by Department of M.Sc. Counseling, Roshni Nilaya and counselors from Suicide Lifeline, A Unit of Susheg Charitable Trust. Counseling session was rendered by Dr. Lavina, Ms. Olga Noronha, Counsellor, Mangaluru Suicide Lifeline and Mrs. Wilsy Francis, Assistant Professor, Department of M.Sc Counselling. The program ended at 1.45 pm with a vote of thanks by Mr. Subin Raj R, Assistant Professor, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Yenepoya Nursing College. Mrs. Rakshitha, Tutor, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Yenepoya Nursing College compared the program.
